Laundry Renovations FAQs in Oakleigh

What can a laundry renovation in Oakleigh include?

Laundry updates can include removing old cupboards, fitting cabinets and shelving, installing a benchtop, replacing a tub and updating taps. Athans Building Services can also help with splashbacks, wall repairs, painting and practical finishing touches, with the work planned around the fittings and finishes each Oakleigh household wants to update.

How can you add more laundry storage?

New laundry cabinets, shelves and storage units can make better use of the available space. Athans Building Services can assemble storage, fit cabinetry and adjust cabinet doors so they open and close properly. The layout and storage options can be discussed before work begins, helping suit the room and everyday needs of your Oakleigh home.

Do plumbing changes need licensed trades in Oakleigh?

Yes. Plumbing changes, including relocating pipework or connecting a new tub and taps, need to be completed by an appropriately licensed plumber. Electrical changes also need a licensed trade. Athans Building Services can help with suitable renovation tasks and coordinate the work around these requirements, so the right trades handle regulated changes.

Can you update laundry flooring and tiles?

Laundry flooring can be refreshed with replacement flooring, new tiles or regrouting, depending on the condition of the room and the finish you want. Athans Building Services can discuss suitable options for your Oakleigh laundry and carry out relevant tiling and regrouting work as part of the renovation.

How do you prepare laundry walls for painting?

Before painting, damaged wall surfaces may need repairs and preparation so the finished room looks neat. Athans Building Services can repair laundry walls and paint them as part of a broader update, taking care around existing fittings and surfaces. The colour and finish can be discussed to suit the room.

What should I tell you before work starts?

It helps to outline which fittings and finishes you want changed, such as cupboards, a benchtop, the laundry tub, taps or flooring. Athans Building Services can then discuss the work needed for your Oakleigh laundry, including any repairs and licensed trade requirements, before agreeing on the next steps.
